Weddings are a testament to a couple’s commitment to each other and the planning of the wedding can be a big undertaking. It’s a process that often overwhelms the best of couples.
We prefer to take our time with your day and not dizzy ourselves by scheduling back-to-back weddings. This is only one of the ways we counteract stress for everyone — by making you a priority.
From curated menus to bar service and rentals, we’ll create a proposal that includes all the details that make your wedding day as unique as you are and to ensure your day runs as smoothly as possible.
With that in mind, here are a few common wedding catering FAQs to give you have a better understanding of our process from start to finish:
Process
How far in advance do I need to book you?
The sooner you book, the better! We limit the number of weddings that we take on at once so that we can give our full attention to yours. Most couples book their wedding with us 6 to 12 months in advance. So, as soon as you have your venue and date, reach out to us and our team is here to help you plan the wedding menu experience of your dreams.
How does the process work?
Simply request a proposal via our website and we’ll send you our menu and a questionnaire to further assist our team in creating your experience. A member of our team will follow up with you to schedule a consultation to go over the details of your day. We delight in listening to your vision and to answer all the specific questions you have. In this time, we will work with you through your menu choices and service needs.
We then create a proposal, review the details with you, and help to finalize any details to help make secure the booking. Once we’ve received your signed catering service agreement and the initial payment, the date is yours!
Services
Do you supply rentals?
Yes, depending on your venue, menu, and service style needs, we can assist in coordinating your rentals.
How do you distinguish different service styles? What is the difference in cost?
Service style is a very important decision. Deciding whether to have a plated, buffet, family-style or small plate station meal sets the tone and feel for the reception. The cost depends on menu selections and your must haves, and each service style has its benefits.
Take a look at some of our sample menus for a taste of what we can offer. We’d be happy to help you figure out what’s best for you.
What are my bar options?
We have the option to provide you with a Soft Bar, everything you need for the bar apart from the alcohol. Soft Bar Services includes disposable tumblers, water, ice, iced tea, lemonade, mixers, bar tools and various garnishes for the bar. We also highly encourage letting us deliver your alcohol the day of and help coordinate how much may be needed. Whether you have Beer and Wine or Beer, Wine, and Cocktails, our Soft Bar Services with alcohol delivery is a stress free option for you.
How much flexibility do we have in menu choices?
We have a menu that you can choose from. But we also really enjoy customizing menus in order to create the perfect menu for you and your guests.
Cost –
Why does catering cost so much? What does the cost of catering cover?
Knife & Faulk bring the experience to you! Caterers are really in the business of food logistics. Think about a high quality restaurant meal and how much it would cost to cater that to you in a beautiful presentation. We put in time to coordinate the logistics and planning for a curated food display with décor custom to your theme. This is what sets apart Knife & Faulk from traditional catering.
Our proposal pricing is intended to be very transparent and cover all of the aspects of catering. That is why we separate out the food, on-site labor, bar, and fees on your proposal. If you have any questions when you receive your proposal, we will be happy to talk through it.
Is gratuity included?
No. We believe strongly that gratuity should not be automatically added. Our staff very much appreciate gratuities, and it is completely at your discretion to give one when making your final payment before your event.
